Around 1 p.m. on Monday, June 4th, 1979, a woman returned to her apartment at 5824 S Pearl St, Littleton, CO to feed her cats during her break from work. She walked past Martha Ruth Brunhoff’s apartment window, which is located at 5812 S Pearl St, and noticed it was broken. She attempted to contact Martha with no success. She unlocked the front door and opened it slightly, but the night chain was locked. Through the opening in the door she could see the victim slouched over in her sofa....
